we have policies to in place to protect all our dogs and to have a smooth transaction for all.

Application to adopt
If you are interested in adopting one of our listed dogs, please fill out an application.

One of our volunteer processors will review your application.  We will reach out to you via phone to discuss further steps and answer any questions you might have.

We will also get in contact with your listed references and your veterinarian.  Please make sure to contact your veterinarian and personal references to give permission for us to talk with your vets office and personal references.

We do NOT adopt to anyone under 21 years old.

We do NOT adopt outside of 200 miles radius of White River Jct, VT 05001 or must be within the State of CT.

We do NOT allow others to adopt a puppy or dog out for others.

We will NOT adopt out if you do have any dogs that are NOT on heartworm prevention.

We will NOT adopt out if you have unspayed or unneutered pets in your household.

Home Visit

Once your application has been processed, you will be contacted by our home visit coordinator to either arrange an in - person visit or photos or video so we can see where your new pup would be living.

Adoption Approval

Once your home visit has been successfully completed, you will receive a notice that your application to

adopt has been approved.

The notice will include information on payment and an adoption contract, which must be completed and submitted before the adoption can be finalized.

The adoption is not finalized until contract is signed and dated, adoption fee is paid, and after you have your pup/dog in your hands.  IF YOU fail to sign and date the contract then the pup/dog is still as Survivor's Paws Animal Rescue dog and is legally ours until the contract is agreed to, signed, dated by you and you have your pup/dog then we can finalize the adoption after we have the vet records uploaded into our software system and Survivor's Paws Animal Rescue has registered the microchip.  ALL microchips are registered to adopters as primary and Survivor's Paws Animal Rescue will ALWAYS be listed secondary.  This protects the dogs if they should get loose and the owners can't be located.  The microchip company will call, email and text Survivor's Paws Animal Rescue.  This does work keeping you pup/dog safe.

You will then be informed as to when and where you can take your new best friend home.

Pick Up Your Dog

If your dog arrives on the transport from down south, you should expect to meet him/her and a representative from SPAR in White River Junction or another mutually agreed up location depending the transport company we use.

If your dog is already in the northeast at a foster home, you will be given the information as to when and where you can pick him/her up.

Please note that the adoption fee must be paid in full prior to picking up your new dog or puppy.  We only accept Paypal at this time.  We do not accept other cash apps.
